Jul. 28 – Aug. 1 – Church of God International General Assembly (28,000 attendees)
The year was 1886. Three men and five women came together in a Unicoi Mountain millhouse along Barney Creek in Monroe County, Tennessee. They purposed together to follow the New Testament as their rule for faith and practice.
Today, The Church of God includes more than 7 million members in 178 nations and territories. Some 36,000 congregations serve around the world, while regional and international ministries provide resources and support through our divisions of World Evangelization, Care, Discipleship, Education, and Support Services.
The Church of God keeps a commitment to obey the Great Commandment to love God and neighbor, an urgency to fulfill the Great Commission to go into all the world, and a desire to realize Christ’s prayer that His disciples might be one.
Shortly after our founding, the Church of God embraced the Holiness movement and the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. Now, in the 21st Century, we remain committed to Pentecostal living in the modern world.
