Rosen Hotels & Resorts Announces Rebranding of Three of Four Orlando Leisure Hotels

Florida's Largest Independent Hotel Chain Renames Hotels to Reflect Increased Value after Multi-Million Dollar Refurbishment

ORLANDO (May 15, 2010) – Rosen Hotels & Resorts, Florida’s largest independent hotel chain with seven properties totaling 6300 guest rooms and suites in Orlando, has just announced that it will rebrand three of its four leisure hotels as of Oct. 1, 2010.

The hotel group recently completed a $30 million room and property renovation on all four leisure hotels and would like to reflect this upgraded quality and increased value in its hotel brands. This fall, the Quality Inn Plaza and the Rodeway Inn International will become Rosen Inns and the Comfort Inn Lake Buena Vista will become a Clarion. Rosen Hotels & Resorts also owns three award-winning Orlando convention properties: Rosen Plaza, Rosen Centre and Rosen Shingle Creek.

“For the last 36 years, Rosen Hotels & Resorts has built a reputation for superior quality and service in the hospitality industry, so we felt it made sense to draw upon the Rosen name in marketing our leisure properties as we have successfully done in promoting our convention properties,” said Harris Rosen, President and COO of Rosen Hotels & Resorts. “We feel fortunate to have the long-time support of loyal clients and industry partners, and we want our supporters to know that these name changes signify our ongoing commitment to providing exceptional service to the leisure traveler with competitive rates, but now with even more value, so that we may continue to exceed their expectations.”

Quality Inn Plaza, soon to be called Rosen Inn at Pointe Orlando, recently earned the AAA Three Diamond Award, and Rosen expects that the other three leisure properties will soon earn this designation as well. The hotel, which features 1,020 guest rooms in six high-rise buildings, will enjoy a close partnership with the Pointe Orlando shopping, dining, nightlife and entertainment complex which is located just across International Drive and within a short walk of the hotel. Hotel guests will receive special offers for discounts at many of Pointe Orlando restaurants, retail and amusement locations.

As the Comfort Inn Lake Buena Vista takes on the name Clarion Inn Lake Buena Vista, it will remain a Choice Hotel brand, but will reflect the more upscale Clarion name and reputation. The hotel features 640 rooms in four high-rise buildings near Downtown Disney. An interactive children’s splash park is set to open late this July in an annex to one of their two swimming pools.

The 315-room Rodeway Inn International will soon be renamed Rosen Inn, and will be the closest Rosen Inn to Universal Orlando®, better promoting its minutes-away access to the popular theme parks, Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure.

There are currently no plans to rename the 728-room Quality Inn International, which was the first hotel that Harris Rosen purchased on June 24, 1974.

Extensive renovations at each of the four hotels was completed this year, with every guest room receiving all new furniture that was made in America, as well as new carpet, window treatments, upgraded art work, luxurious pillow-top mattresses and stylish, yet comfortable bedding. Private bathrooms now feature granite finish vanity and modern decorative lighting. Additional renovations were made to each hotel individually, including items such as signage, designer landscaping, repaved parking lots, new pool furniture and decks, updated elevator interiors, and environmentally friendly lighting. Refurbishments have also made the hotels more eco-friendly. These practices include, but are not limited to, water conservation measures by installing low flow plumbing fixtures and implementing a linen reuse program, and energy efficiency achieved by installing compact florescent (CFL) bulbs in all guestroom lamps and light fixtures, among other improvements.

The three International Drive properties offer guests complimentary, scheduled shuttle service to Universal Orlando®, SeaWorld Orlando®, Aquatica® and Wet ‘n Wild Orlando® (reservation required). The I-Ride Trolley stops in front of each hotel, providing low-cost transportation to more than 75 stops in the International Drive attractions area. The three hotels are conveniently located off I-4, on International Drive, in the heart of the attractions area and just 12-15 minutes from Orlando International Airport.

The Comfort Inn Lake Buena Vista offers guests complimentary scheduled daily transportation to Walt Disney World Resort® theme parks, Universal Orlando, SeaWorld Orlando and Aquatica. The hotel is located just off I-4, approximately 20 minutes from Orlando International Airport.
